I know people who are overly concern about their personal hygiene, even a single speck of dust can turn their skin horribly red (then again why wouldn’t the skin be red with excessive scratching?), and when I see such things happening, I’ll wish to throw them the Detectiar vest. The vest, designed by industrial design students at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, is equipped with sensors that can alert the user about environmental toxins they’re breathing in. The LEDs shows the individual’s quality of breathing based on the toxicity levels in the air, while small vibrators will alert the user if he has entered a “dangerous zone”. The turtleneck collar is made up of protective mechanism similar to a medical/dust mask, and can be pulled over to cover their nose and mouth when they’re in an unhealthy atmosphere. Here’s to taking obsessive-compulsive disorder to a whole new level!
