Designed by an outfit that called themselves as AGENT, the ball features a transparent design that contains some sort of structure that would eliminate the need to pump air into the ball. However, the most interesting part of CTRUS is that its core can be fitted with electronics that can serves as:
- Inner light, color changes at critical game situations (goal, offside and out of bounds).
- Recording of kick force and travel speed.
- Location of the ball relative to the court (interactive detection system via GPS / RFID).
- P.O.V. camera footage (software stabilized image).
As funky as it looks, we don't think this radical ball will grace the field anytime soon. To be honest, we still love the so-called “human touch” on the field. We can’t imagine a football match where we don’t have anything to scream at referees since many of the decisions would already been clarified by the ball.
