Intel Smashes Rumours of Bigger Screen Size for Atom-based Netbooks


Yesteday, DIGITIMES claims that Intel is finally going to remove the screen size limitation that the company imposed on Atom-based netbooks since the processor was launched back in 2008. The lift is reported to be made in conjunction with the upcoming launch of the dual-core Atom N550 processor sometime in second half of 2010, so that manufacturers would be able to deliver 11.6-inch and 12.1-inch netbooks to the market.
However, an Intel spokesperson squashed the rumours completely not long after the news made it rounds around the net by stating that "there is no truth to this", according to their response to X-bit Labs. Oh well, guess we are not going to see any bigger netbooks anytime soon then…
