When it comes to big companies giving mobile phones to their employee,
picking BlackBerry devices has always been a favorite choice, but
recently, Standard Chartered has switched its standard corporate
communications device from BlackBerry to the iPhone. According to
Reuters, the employees of the bank that are currently holding a
company-issued BlackBerry can now opt to switch to the Apple handset.
Unfortunately though, no information has been revealed regarding how
many of the 75,000 employees in over 70 countries were given the
privilege. It also appears that even several banks have started using
iPhones as a corporate mobile device as well. Will you choose the
iPhone, or do you think that's it's more appropriate to use BlackBerry?
"If more companies switch to the iPhone, this is of course bad news
for RIM. However, it will take a long time for companies to do their
own internal testing before deciding to change, so it will be a while
before it has any effect on RIM." -- Lu Chialin, an IT industry analyst
at Macquarie Securities in Taipei, told Reuters.
