Twitter Hacked, "Iranian Cyber Army" Claims Responsibility
Earlier today, the popular social media site Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/) has been attacked once again; this time by a group that called themselves the “Iranian Cyber Army”. The group has managed to bring the whole site to its knees for around an hour and defaced the site with above image.
So far, the only official explanation given by Twitter is:
“Twitter's DNS records were temporarily compromised tonight but have now been fixed. We will update with more information and details once we've investigated more fully”. – Biz Stone, co-founder of Twitter
As one of the most popular website in the world, we feel that Twitter really has to buck up their security measures. These attacks have been happening far too often till the extent that it raises concerns over Twitter abilities to protect not only their services but also millions of their users.
Meanwhile, for users that share their Twitter’s password with other application, they are advised to replace them with new passwords in order to avoid any unforeseen exploitation. Seems like a hassle, but believe us, it is better to be safe than sorry.
