Everybody loves Lenovo ThinkPad for a reason, because they’re business-like and very durable, however, what good is a durable device when they look plain and boring? Lenovo recently launched two new ThinkPad laptops that add style and affordability on top of its high performance. The ThinkPad Edge is a brand new series of laptop from Lenovo catered specially for the small and medium sized businesses (SMB), while the ThinkPad X100e is the first professional-grade ultraportable laptop with a starting price of below RM2,000; now that’s what I call affordable.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge

Available in 13”, 14” and 15”, the 13” ThinkPad Edge is the first ThinkPad laptop to offer AMD dual core processor technology and to be offered on AMD’s Vision Pro Technology. While many would prefer a professional-looking black color (midnight glossy or midnight soft black) for their business laptops, the ThinkPad Edge series comes with an extra choice of heatwave red for the stylish individuals. It comes with a revamped keyboard, with the embedded number pad and other rarely used keys such as System Request removed, giving it a more contemporary design. Additionally, the 14- and 15-inch versions come with illuminated keyboards to add a hint of elegance to the interior. The ThinkPad Edge also comes with a larger multi-touch touchpad that allow users to use their fingers to pinch, zoom and scroll.

The ThinkPad Edge 13” version is available now starting at approximately RM1,999. The 14- and 15-inch versions will be available in Q2 2010.

Lenovo ThinkPad X100e

At an affordable price starting from below RM2,000, the ThinkPad X100e is a perfect model for those who desire performance, usability and design all under one hood. Equipped with choices of AMD Athlon Neo single and dual core processors and Turion dual core processors, the X100e provides strong performance to run typical applications. Available at 11.6”, the X100e is ultra-portable and yet it is equipped with a full-sized keyboard and a multi-touch touchpad for a comfortable use. The X100e is also available in midnight black and heatwave red.
