It seems like the health of children is something very important to take care of, there’s now a Nintendo DS game that encourages children to check their blood sugar test regularly. Aimed at helping young diabetic patients monitor the blood sugar level in their body, Bayer has recently released a game called Knock Em Downs: World Fair that comes bundled with a blood glucose tester. The adventure game features two characters trying to defeat the henchmen have absolutely nothing to do with diabetics, but in order to score bonus points and unlock special features to the game, the player will have to have their blood checked regularly. Thank god, I was worried that they were going to get children to read about something I doubt adults would be interested in. Let’s hope they don’t get too greedy and start cutting themselves so they can score more bonus points. Also, I’m not quite sure about hygiene, unless they have parental supervision to ensure the thing gets sterilized before they place their bleeding finger on it, I doubt a child would even bother.
