Adobe Proves Most Flash Sites Do Work On Touch Devices

The Adobe Flash has been getting a lot of flak as of late, especially from Adobe’s former best buddy, Apple who is currently so deep in love with HTML5. One of the many reason behind the change of heart was that “most Flash websites need to be rewritten to support touch-based devices” – as stated inside Steve Job’s open letter regarding Adobe Flash. Is that really the case?

In order to test the validity of the allegations, Lee Brimelow, a Platform Evangelist at Adobe run through a number of Flash websites - as they are; without any kind of code modifications for them to run on touch-based environment -  on a Dell Latitude XT2 tablet. Throughout the demonstration, none of the test sites have any problem to response to touch gestures.

Is this means that Steve was wrong? Maybe but to be honest, there are still bunch of other problems that Adobe need to sort out before they can silence their critics out there. For the mean time, check out Brimelow's demonstration right after the break.
