PostHeaderIcon Next Generation Intel Atom Processors

Intel just announced its next-generation Atom processor, promising to deliver netbooks and entry-level desktops that consumes less power than existing Atom processors, and most importantly a much improved performance. Featuring integrated graphics built directly into the CPU, the N450 processor for netbooks is 60% smaller than existing Atom processors, and consumes up to 20% less power. The D410 and D510 for entry-level desktops on the other hand, are 70% smaller and a whooping 50% more energy efficient.

The Intel Atom N450 is a single core Atom processor running on 1.66GHz with 512k of L2 cache and a 7 watt total kit TDP including chipset. The D410 for entry-level desktop PCs is a single-core Atom processor with 512k of L2 cache and a 12-watt total kit TDP including chipset, and the D510 for entry-level desktop PCs is a dual core Atom processor with 1meg L2 cache and a 15-watt total kit TDP including chipset.

The next generation of Intel Atom powered netbooks will be shown in the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) early next year together with its pricing and availability. Meanwhile watch the video below.
