PostHeaderIcon Apple Products Are Way Cheaper In Malaysia Than Brazil

In general, Apple products are considered to quite pricey in Malaysia. While the judge is still out there, be glad that Apple products in this country are actually not the most expensive in the world.

According to this excellent chart, which includes a number of countries such as UK, Hong Kong and South Africa; the people in Brazil have to pay a whopping RM 6,897 (USD 2,068) for a 13” base-model Apple MacBook Pro. The price didn't come from some third party distributor, mind you. In fact, it is the actual price listed on Apple Brazil official online store. As a comparison, the price of the same exact model at Apple Malaysia’s online store is RM 4,499 (USD 1,349); more than two thousand Ringgit differences.

Call us shocked but there are most probably hundreds of reasons behind the price differences between Malaysia and Brazil, together with other official regional stores. But then again, what can you expect from a country that just brought in official units of PlayStation 2 - nine years after its original launch - and then, sell them for RM 1,537 (USD 461) each?

Yup, that’s Brazil for you.
