PostHeaderIcon Google Now Helps Monitor Your Gmail Account

It seems like Google has recently launched a new service to help protect your Gmail account on top of the current remote sign out and information about your recent account activity, which I must admit, I’ve never paid attention to because it blends in so well with my Email and is buried way under everything else. Understanding the importance of protecting your email account (after receiving a scamming email from a friend’s account that have been hijacked), your Gmail account is now much smarter and is able to track unusual activities such as accessing from different geographical locations within a short period of time. Apart from being to highlight a warning message which reads something like: “Warning: We believe your account was last accessed from…” together with some geographical information, Google will also provide a more detailed information about the suspicious access such as IP address and access type. I think this is a great move, when someone discovers your Gmail password, it is likely your other Google services might get compromised as well such as Blogger, YouTube and so many more.
