While both WD SiliconEdge Blue and SiliconDrive N1xlooks physically the same, they actually operate at a different level from eachother. Sure, both of them are 2.5-inch drives and feature the same native SATA3.0 Gb/s interface but the SiliconEdge Blue in faster in terms of read and writespeed at 250/170 megabytes per second, compared to SiliconDrive N1x’s speed of240/128 megabytes per second.
That being said, as the SiliconDrive N1x is a single-levelcells based storage device, it is more reliable than its multi-level cells brother. That is exactly why the N1x is targeted at embedded system manufacturers thatrely on reliability and the WD SiliconEdge Blue is more for performance-demandingusers.
