Windows XP Users: Careful With That F1 Button!


Windows 7 might be new and shiny but we reckoned that millions out there are still using Windows XP. Thus, this newly discovered and yet to be named bug is going to be major threat for everybody that still spotting the popular operating system.
According to Microsoft, the new bug is caused by the way that VBScript interacts with Windows Help files when using Internet Explorer. If a malicious website able to trick or force a user to press the F1 button, the action might trigger codes that might possess security concerns for the user.
There are still no major reports that involve this bug but that doesn’t mean you need to be the first casualty either. Since there is still no fix patch for the time being, do exercise cautions especially when you are browsing at the unfamiliar part of Internet.
