Following suit with the launch of their 2 premium cars to the highly successful luxury 7 Series range just last month, last Friday saw the arrival of the 6th generation BMW 5 series. Like its predecessor, the 6th generation of the BMW 5 Series sedan sets an all-new epitome in the motoring industry, combining aesthetic design with supreme driving pleasure. With its combination of elegant looks, supreme handling and outstanding efficiency, the new BMW 5 series is a culmination of all the latest innovations that have made BMW the world’s most successful manufacturer of premium cars.

At an event last Friday, BMW took us on a journey through time with the previous 5 generations in the iconic 5 Series eventually culminating in the unveiling of the much-anticipated BMW F10. The new F10 comes in 2 six-cylinder in-line engine variants, the BMW 523i and the BMW 535i.

At the other end of the spectrum, the top end of the premium sedan, the BMW 535i is the most powerful six-cylinder model in its class with a total output of 225kW/306hp, an increase of 25kW/34hp from its predecessor. Combining BMW TwinPower Turbo, High Precision Injection and VALVETRONIC technology, the car also registers 400Nm of Torque, allowing it to complete the 0-100km dash in a mere 6.1 seconds.
