I SEE DEAD PEOPLE...ON FACEBOOK

What happens when a person dies? Well under normal circumstances, there would be an obituary in the papers, a funeral, and people mourning over the loss, but apparently, now one can create a memorial page for the deceased in Facebook, or well, at least change the current Facebook profile of the deceased to a ‘memorialized‘ profile. In order to memorialize a profile, one would have to submit a form to Facebook and provide evidence of death such as an obituary or news articles. Once approved, sensitive information such as contacts and status updates will be removed, leaving only the wall for people to post their remembrance. I don’t mean to be rude, and sorry for laughing, I can just imagine “Memorialize so-and-so’s Facebook account” as one of the top “Payback Techniques” (if there's such a book); afterall, I guess photoshopping a fake obituary doesn't take much skill or time.
