PostHeaderIcon VINTAGE APPLE 1 OWNER IS NOT REALLY A MAC FAN

For those who didn't fall asleep in their computing history class (yours truly did) or a die-hard Apple fan for life, we are pretty sure that the Apple 1 name rings a bell in your memory. It is the first ever computer from the Cupertino-based company and was hand-built by The Woz himself in 1976. Around 200 units were sold before it was discontinued just after one year in the market, to make way for Apple II who later became a commercial phenomenon.

Today, only a handful of Apple I still exist, making it a very rare piece of collector's item. So, when one of them was up for sale on EBay last month, a lot of vintage computer collectors and fans tried to get it into their hand. Guess how much was the price at the end of the bidding? RM 61,244 (USD 18,000).

It was not a bargain price but of course, we are talking about a piece of computing history here! However, thenew owner actually bought the Apple I not because that he is a fan of the company, but for his future vintage computer museum. In fact, he didn't really like modern Macs and thought of them as overpriced.

But he also said that things have changed around Apple camp recently and he might convert from PC to Macs...when the time comes.
