Skype goes 720p
It’s time to update your webcam and television because now you can make high-definition video calls via Skype. Skype announced that later this year, there will be HDTVs shipped with its embedded calling software that can deliver 720p HD videos at 30fps.The company also mentioned that a few companies will be introducing HD webcams specially designed for the Skype software that will be handle video encoding and processing on the device itself. While manufacturers can design hardware that can handle the processing power required, there's still a little issue called limited bandwidth.
