Apple to Bring iPhone OS to Other Devices?
The Core Platform team within Apple's Core OS organization is looking for a talented and inspired manager to lead a team focused on bring-up of iPhone OS on new platforms.
Upon reading the full description, there are two requirements that caught our eyes - “Understanding of SoC (System-on-Chip) level design” and “Experience with ARM based SoC's”. This could mean that the new platforms will be powered by ARM processors; which are commonly used in many of Apple’s devices. So, what could they be?
The nearest device that we could think of is the company’s own Apple TV. But of course, the OS has potential to be used in many more devices other than a digital media receiver and knowing Apple, it could be something that is beyond ordinary.
