PostHeaderIcon Plot Thickens: Author of Google Attack Codes Has Been Found

Earlier this year, Google and a number of Western corporations online properties were hit by a major cyber-attack. As the origin of the attack was traced back to China, the incident has left a permanent wound in Google China operation that is so deep to the extent that the company was forced to reconsider their operations in China. This new findings by US authorities is not going to make things better.

Apparently, the investigators have managed to identify one of the programmers that wrote a part of the attack’s codes; which are designed to take advantage of a previously unknown vulnerability within Microsoft Internet Explorer. However, the person - who is said to be 30 years old freelance security consultant - does not involved in the attack's deployment.

This recent development might have raised even more suspicion around the Chinese government involvement in the attack but it does not prove whether the ties really exist or not. So, until the allegation is really proven (or reversed) with solid proofs, don’t expect the truth will be out soon.
