PostHeaderIcon The New Google Chrome BETA: Lightning Fast (Literally)

Yesterday marked the release of the latest version of GoogleChrome. If you haven’t already downloaded it, you should be heading over hereto do so. If you still aren’t convinced at the benchmarked 30-35% speedincrease over the previous beta, what could convince you more than potatocannons, lightning and strange coloured corn syrup goo. Seeing is believing, sorather than tell us how fast it is with fancy numbers, the team at Googledecided to show us.

Pitting the browser against things like an air cannon thatlaunches potatoes into a slicer, soundwaves and eventually lightning, it seemsthat Chrome holds its own against all of the above.  Of course no Rube Goldberg-esque machine is complete withoutthe high-speed camera and super slow motion captures, 2700 frames-per-second tobe exact. I haven’t seen a video that made me giggle like an excited child in awhile! Fans of the Discovery Channel show Mythbusters will love this.

The one thing about the test that brought me back to earthwas that they used a 15Mbit connection in the video and I remembered with a heavy heart, inKL, we have Streamyx. T_T
Full video and making of after the jump!

The video!
