Alienware Teases Their New Little Monster: The M11X

Don’t you just love the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES)? New products could just come out of nowhere and next thing you know, there’s a new product to be drool on. Such is the case with Alienware M11X, which was revealed by Dell (http://www.dell.com.my) just mere hours ago at their CES’09 press event.
As you might guess, the number 11 is indeed referring to its netbook-like 11.6” 720p display. Inside its tiny chassis is an ultra-low voltage Intel Core 2 Duo processor that is paired with a pretty serious NVIDIA GT355M discrete graphics. According to Dell, the M11X is able to produce a respectable frames per second (fps) rate of 30fps in Modern Warfare 2 and 50fps in Crysis, together with a 3D Mark score in the range of 6000 to 7000.
In terms of battery life, the company said that the laptop is able to operate for 2 hours with maximum performance settings enabled. However, since the discrete graphics can be switch on-the-fly to an integrated graphic processor, the M11X battery life can be further extended up to 6.5 hours. This can be done without even the need to reboot the laptop.
All in all, the Alienware M11X is a yet another very drool worthy product from Dell, just like its more powerful siblings, the M17X and M15X. However, no actual release date or exact price was mentioned at the event but Dell did say that the laptop starting price will be less than RM 3,377 (USD 1000) which is pretty attractive for gaming heads out there.
Two more product shots and a hands-on video are available for your enjoyment, right after the jump.
