The recent launch of USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0 may have sent desktop power users into a little dance, but laptop users like myself did feel a little left out. Why you ask? Well, primarily because upgrading a desktop computer to support these new standards is about as straightforward as swapping out the motherboard, whereby on a mobile machine, your only options are waiting for a compatible PC Express card to hit the market, or simply swapping out your existing laptop for a new one.

Thankfully for us, the good folk from Seagate (do we call them Sea Men?) have come up with a solution called the BlackArmor PS110 USB 3.0 toolkit which comes bundled with the the former of the two above given options, in the form of a USB 3.0 compatible PC Express card. Joy!

Simply plug the PC Adapter card into a notebook, connect one end of the included adapter cord to the PC card, the other end to the BlackArmor PS110 drive, and it is set.

Sounds good, huh? It actually does, save for the part in the last sentence of the paragraph that says it needs to be connected to both the USB cable AND the power adapter. Hmm..
