PostHeaderIcon Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 launched in Malaysia

If Windows Mobile 6.5 still tickles your fancy, and using a stylus to interact with menus is the way you roll, then you’re in luck because Sony Ericsson just launched the Xperia X2 in Mid Valley yesterday.

Returning in the familiar metal case slanted slider form factor, the Xperia X2 prides itself in being able to deliver the “best in class email and multimedia experience” and is targeted at the mobile professional who needs to stay connected while on the go.

Story continues after the jump.

The X2 comes with a large 3.2 inch WVGA screen that slides back to reveal a refined QWERTY keyboard from that on the X1. The keys on this keyboard aren’t as smooth and flat as they were previously, and the raised centres of each key actually make typing a whole lot easier.

The device comes preloaded with Microsoft Office Mobile, and is capable of syncing up with Microsoft Exchange email servers, so on the go businessmen and executives shouldn’t have a problem getting all their work done while being away from the office.

Having said that, the Xperia X2 isn’t all about work either. It comes with lots of rich multimedia functions such as an 8.1MP camera, built-in GPS, a TV-out port, stereo speakers and a throng of customizable panels to help you access programs and webpages quickly and easily.

The Xperia X2 is also offering an interesting approach to tech support. One of the 10 preloaded panels is actually a support panel which gives you direct access to a special Sony Ericsson hotline that was set up to exclusively serve Xperia users. Through the panel, you can contact the Xperia support team via email or telephone regardless of which country you are in. What makes this concierge like service so special, is that if you’re stuck overseas and are encountering a problem with your Xperia, the support panel will direct you to the closest Sony Ericsson centre and entitle you to a 1-for-1 swap for the duration of your stay in that country or until they get your device working.

Priced at RM2799, the Xperia X2 is available in either Modern Silver or Elegant Black and is now available at all Sony Ericsson retailers. More information on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 can be found on the official Sony Ericsson website here http://tinyurl.com/yg8yavu.
