PostHeaderIcon Apple Pull Out Sexy Apps En Masse

It came without warning and in a flash; they were gone - one by one. That was the scene over at Apple’s App Store last weekend when Apple decided to launch a surprise “sweeping” operation on it. Their targets? Sizzling sex-themed apps.

At first, Apple stated that they were only removing those apps that are “overtly sexual” which is totally understandable. But then, as more and more apps were pulled out from the store, a number of developers that were affected in the operation have started to question the blitz operation. According to Jon Atherton - the developer of Wobble, one of the earliest casualty of the operation – Apple's new policies are very strict to the extent that “no apps will be approved that in any way (that) imply sexual content,” anymore.

Wow, tough break there. While this clean-up operation would probably make the App Store even friendlier to minors, wouldn’t it hurt if Apple properly informs their developers whenever they made random change to their policies? Nevertheless, looks like there will be no more sexy time apps for your iPhone..
