PostHeaderIcon Let Children Browse YouTube Safely With Safety Mode

You’ve probably already loaded your children’s computers with parental control things to stop them from accessing things you don’t want them to see, but it would be too ridiculous to block YouTube, a website they may use to get videos of the block contents. YouTube recently announced a new feature called the Safety Mode that stops them from browsing sexual content, graphic violence and even blocking out salty comments. The feature can be activated at the bottom of the YouTube main page and you can lock safety mode on the browser by logging on to your account.

Unfortunately though, although it is able to filter direct words such as “nude”, I’m still getting video results related to “nudie” with some rather NSFW pictures. YouTube did however, mention that “no filter is 100% perfect”, but I was kind of hoping that it could do better than that, moreover, people could always make a little change in the spelling (deliberately or accidentally) in the text and the videos will then be found and seen.

Watch the video from YouTube after the jump.
