PostHeaderIcon novero TheFirstOne Review

I’ve never really used a Bluetooth headset before, reason being I don’t enjoy having something hanging off my ear or the collar of my shirt, but TheFirstOne Bluetooth headset from Novero that we introduced before here, might just change my mind. I have to admit, although the whitecolor certainly did play a rather important role but aside from that, I was quite impressed with it.

TheFirstOne comes in a long transparent box with the headset hanging like a model on display on the top half. Right below that are the instruction manual, CD and more boxes containing the accessories and chargers that I absolutely love; you’ll see why later. This is probably one of the device with the most comprehensive set of accessories in a box I’ve ever seen; it comes with 2 different sockets for the wall charger, a car charger, a USB port, a lanyard for you to hang the headset around your neck, a mini dock for you to place it in cars or on your desk, a clip holder so you can clip it on clothes and such, a bunch of ear tips, and here’s the best part, they’re all in white. By now you’ve probably figured that I like the color white, but what you don’t know is, I love gadgets that are white in color.

More after the jump.

The Unboxing

The design to TheFirstOne is very simple with only one button to receive/hang up calls at the front, and volume buttons on the left side. The down side to it’s very minimalistic design is that TheFirstOne is surrounded by a shiny chrome material that tends to attract fingerprints and it could turn out rather ugly because you’re going to have to hold on to it when adjusting the volume and maybe even picking up calls. I’ve probably been too harsh about the ergonomics factor of Bluetooth headsets that fits in your ear; they always look like they can fall out at the slightest movement, but TheFirstOne fits rather comfortably and very securely in my ear.

When in use in a noisy environment whilst walking and talking softly, I was surprised that the person I was talking to could hear what I say at all, unfortunately though, it won’t work so well in a windy environment so it means you can’t keep your windows opened when you’re driving and wish to use this Bluetooth headset.

My favourite accessory: The tiny little dongle that fits in your car. It even comes with a double-sided tape so you can stick it to your car or desk.

I’m finally learning to appreciate using a Bluetooth headset when driving (as opposed to using the built-in speakers on my phone) thanks to how well TheFirstOne performed. It would be a very attractive gadget to get, unfortunately, my most major concern is the price because it is available for a whooping RM459! Well, at least the ridiculously high price doesn’t seem that ridiculous after all with its performance, but I’m sure an average person like myself will not be able to afford it anytime soon.
