PostHeaderIcon Symantec is on the look out for identity theft victims

Cybercrime is becoming an increasingly serious threat, and Symantec is taking the growing phenomenon very seriously. So seriously in fact, that they are looking for cybercrime victims to share their story so they can better assist in keeping Symantec users safe in the future.

“Join Symantec’s Fight Against Cybercrime”: Cybercrime is on the rise. 1 out of 5 will become a victim. Symantec security researchers see 200+ million attacks on average every month, the vast majority of which are NEVER-SEEN-BEFORE threats and delivered via the Internet. Symantec is on a mission to counter the cybercrime menace and help you stay safe online. Have you lost money to Internet scams, had your personal details/identity stolen over the net or had been subjected to online fraud while shopping online? Do you know anyone who believes he or she is a victim of cybercrime and wants to help prevent others from falling into cybercriminals’ traps? If you are a victim or know of someone who is, Symantec is inviting you and your friends to share your stories!

Post your story with no more than 600 words in this thread today or email it to symantecfac@text100.com.my and you may stand a chance to win a FREE Norton Internet Security 2010 for a year PLUS USD100 cash if you are selected!”. Closing date: March 1, 2010.

That's right folks. If you've fallen victim to cybercrime in the past, and are willing to share your story then you could be in the running to win a cool US$100 as well as a year's subscription to Norton Internet Security 2010. To take part in this "competition" of sorts, you can either email your story directly to the email address above, or hit up our forums and post your story there.
