PostHeaderIcon Alienware Aurora Desktops On Dell Malaysia’s Site?

During the launch of Alienware Area 51 desktops back in October 2009, we asked the good people at Dell Malaysia (http://www.dell.com.my) whether Alienware’s other desktop - the Aurora series - will be made available for our market. We received a very positive answer but we haven’t heard anything again from them since then (apart from the M11x, of course), right until this afternoon.
A tipster has alerted us the Alienware desktop series page on Dell Malaysia’s website has been updated with Aurora and Aurora ALX machines, in addition to the previously released Area 51 and Area 51 ALX models. Furthermore, the site’s front page has also been updated with a big banner that depicts the new desktop series.
To make sure that the update is not just a test run, we dive into the customization page to see the series technical details and price range. Dive in to see what we have found about the new Alienware Aurora desktop through Dell Malaysia’s website.
[Thanks for the tips, redbull_y2k!]
Comes standard with CPU liquid cooling apparatus, interested customers are able to equip their Aurora with either Intel Core i5-750 (2.66GHz) or Core i7-860 (2.80GHz) processors while the Aurora ALX is limited to only Core i7-975 Extreme Edition processor that is factory overclocked from the default 3.33GHz clock speed to 3.60GHz.
As for graphic cards, both ATI and NVIDIA cards are available for both Aurora models, either in single or dual card configuration. Other interesting options that customers can also include in their orders are Blu-ray disc burner, Killer Xeno Pro Gaming network card, Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card and Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1200 Media Center Kit.
On the memory front, users are also able to slot in up to 24GB of DDR3 RAM, together with up to 3TB worth of hard drive storage. Obviously, with such powerful hardware options, the Aurora machines are not going to be cheap. The asking price for Aurora series starts from RM 4,999, up to RM 18,000 - pretty hefty for microATX machines, to be honest.
We are pretty sure that the inclusions of Alienware Aurora desktop series on Dell Malaysia’s website are as real as they can get but we still want to hear what the company have to say about their new machines themselves. So, stay tuned and for the time being, enjoy these lovely shots of the machines!
