It's Time To Upgrade Your Windows

“Advanced technologies available in the market make it easier for users to keep their PCs up-to-date and as safe as possible, especially to combat increasingly sophisticated security threats. It is therefore imperative for all customers to take action prior to the end of support dates to ensure a secure Windows PC experience.” -- Yasir Yousuff, Chief Marketing Officer, Microsoft MalaysiaIf you’re using Windows Vista RTM, the supported will be ended on April 13 2010 while the support Windows XP SP2 and Windows 2000 Professional will be terminated on July 13 2010. Additionally, mainstream support for Microsoft Windows Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003 will also end on July 13 2010 and customers will have to choose Extended Support and no longer be able to get free support options and new non-security hotfixes. Although Microsoft recommends users to migrate to Windows 7, you can choose to upgrade your Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista SP2 to ensure you’re receiving the important free updates.
You can check which version of Windows you’re running on by:
* Clicking on the Start Button -> Run (or press Windows Key + R), and key in ‘winver’ (without the quotes). A dialog box will pop-up indicating the service pack installed.
* Clicking on the Start Button, right-click on Computer, select Properties and a window will appear showing the service pack installed.
