PostHeaderIcon Is 3D Really Bad For Your Health?

If you think that the Samsung warning notice for its 3D entertainment systems is bizarre and even ridiculous because it claims that it could cause potential health risks for children, the elderly and pregnant women, then you should think again. Recently, Simon Lee, the head of Samsung’s R&D department said that they’ve been looking at 3D since 1999 and since then, they have tested on a lot of different people and realized that although 98% of the populations have no issues, the remaining 2% could have serious eye issues especially for young children. While the claim that it’s the reality of 3D that affects the emotion of pregnant ladies and those with medical conditions may not be entirely justifiable, Simon Lee said that the reason why 3D could affect young children is because the distance between their eyes has a smaller gap.
"It depends on the distance of your two eyes. Most people have a 2.5-inch distance and they won't have a problem but small children who have a smaller distance may not see the 3D image properly." -- Simon Lee, Head of R&D, Samsung.

Whether you believe it or not, it’s always good to be fully aware of what you’re doing – you wouldn’t want to destroy a child’s eye would you?
