PostHeaderIcon Targus Recalls Universal Power Adapters in US


In a move that are going to involve around half a million power adapters, Targus or rather one of their product's manufacturer - Comarco Inc., has issued a recall notice on several of their universal power adapters for laptops. The recall program was created due to the affected adapters' faulty wiring which caused worrying burn hazards among significant amount of their owners.
The hazard is as serious as it sounds since Comarco received more than 500 reports of connector tips heating on those defective models. Some of the reports have pointed out that the adapter's plastic casing melted as direct consequences of the heat problem and not to forget, some of the consumers even got their fingertip and hand burned a bit too!
Affected models can be determined through their SKU numbers that are written on their label. Here is the list of affected SKU number:
- APA23US-02
- APA23US-03
- APA23US-04
- APA63US-03
- APA63US-04
- APM62US-03
- APM62US-04
For Malaysian customers, you have nothing to worry about as Targus universal power adapters that are being sold here have different SKU numbers compared to those on the list.
