Starting up your own business is a very big challenge, especially when you’re trying to reach out to as many customers as possible. Yesterday, eBay and PayPal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SME Corporation Malaysia to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia reach out to the global market. With eBay as a platform to sell and reach out to the International market, and PayPal as a safe and reliable payment gateway, this is the perfect partnership to help our country grow.

“SME Corp welcomes the opportunity to enter into this partnership with eBay and PayPal, both global leaders in e-commerce. It reflects our mission of helping SMEs to expand their businesses by going online to reach new customers.” -- Datuk Ir. (Dr.) Mohamed Al Amin Hj. Abdul Majid, Chairman of SME Corp Malaysia.
During the signing ceremony yesterday, SME Corp Malaysia also held a seminar entitled “Empowering Businesses Online with eBay and PayPal” to teach SME owners how to sell their products. eBay, PayPal and SME Corp Malaysia will also be providing education courses for SMEs in Malaysia conducted by certified eBay Education Specialists in Malaysia. There will also be a Trading Assistant Program to help those who would like to outsource their online sales channel, and gain an end-to-end service by eBay experts to sell their products on eBay.

To help those who would like to start selling on eBay now, eBay is offering a waiver of insertion fees for the first 100 listings and selected features, while PayPal is offering up to 25% discount on fees for the first 100 payments received.
