If you haven’t been following the news about the recent attack against that even caused the German and French Government to urge their citizens to stop using Internet Explorer, you’ve probably been sleeping; but nonetheless, there’s a patch for IE now and we urge that you update once it’s available this midnight.

So far, the only known successful attacks were on Internet Explorer 6, so Microsoft is highly recommending you to upgrade to IE8 for now, and then installing the Out of Band update, which will be available later tonight. If you have Windows automatic updates turned on, the update will automatically be applied once it has been released.
