If you’re disappointed that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 that was launched in Malaysia 2 weeks ago runs on Google Android 1.6 instead of 2.1, then you can sigh out in relief because it has been unofficially announced that the X10 will be getting an update this coming September. This piece of news would’ve been very exciting and something to look forward to (despite being warned by source that you shouldn’t get your hopes up too high because the person who started the rumor could be there just to make consumers choose the X10 over other Android 2.1 devices), but right now if I wanted an alternative to Google Android devices, there’s always the Motorola Milestone. Nonetheless, let’s hope that the “big update” mentioned by a spokesperson from Sony Ericsson IS actually Android 2.1.
